To celebrate the New Year, Pokemon Go New Year’s Event will take place from Thursday, December 31, 2020, at 10:00 p.m. to Monday, January 4, 2021, at 10:00 p.m. local time. During the New Year’s Event, costumed Pokemon, new year avatar items and other bonus will come to players.

Wow, a Slowpoke with 2020 glass is in the wild, but it will be 2021 soon. What can you help Slowpoke? For this year’s New Year’s event, players can evolve Slowpoke wearing 2020 spectacles to have a Slowbro wearing 2021 glasses! Slowpoke wearing 2020 glasses will be appearing in the wild, appearing after you complete Field Research tasks, appearing in raids, and hatching from 2 km Eggs.

Other Pokemon is going to wear New Year costume appearing in Pokemon Go as well. Pichu with a New Year’s hat will occur in the event. Pichu will appear in the wild and after you complete Field Research tasks. It also will be hatching from 2 km Eggs. If you evolve Pikachu wearing a New Year’s hat, you will own a Raichu wearing a New Year’s hat!

Wynaut will also be hatching from 2 km Eggs. If you’re lucky, you might find a Shiny Wynaut! Raticate, Wobbuffet, and Wurmple wearing party hats will be appearing in one-star raids. Klink and Espurr will be joining them as well. That’s not all. Eevee wearing a party hat will be available as a Field Research reward encounter.

Celebrate 2021 with costumed Pokemon and the New Year’s Party Hat avatar items available in the in-app shop. Boxes will contain different items during the event. What’s more, 2× Hatch Candy, 2× Hatch Stardust, and 1/2 Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in an Incubator. Ring in the New Year with Pokemon Go!
