Epic Store New Policy: Two-Factor Authentication Required For Claiming Free Games
For many PC game players, although the Epic game store is not the preferred platform of choice for gamers, but the weekly launch of limited-time free games is still a hit.
Epic recently announced that from April 28 to May 21, two-factor authentication is required to receive free games. In terms of authentication methods, the Epic store provides "application verification", "SMS verification" and "email verification". The official explained that this is to encourage players to take measures to strengthen the security of their accounts.
The Epic official stated in the announcement that the official will regularly require the use of two-factor authentication (2FA) as a condition for receiving free games in the Epic store until 21th, May. If players do not turn on two-factor authentication, they will receive a notification when they receive a free game to prompt players to set up two-factor authentication before they can receive it.
